"I know these are difficult times for America. But I also know that we have faced difficult times before. The American story has never been about things coming easy - it's been about rising to the moment when the moment was hard. It's about seeing the highest mountaintop from the deepest of valleys. It's about rejecting fear and division for unity of purpose. That's how we've overcome war and depression. That's how we've won great struggles for civil rights and women's rights and worker's rights. And that's how we'll emerge from this crisis stronger and more prosperous than we were before - as one nation; as one people."
-Barack Obama, Monday 27 October 2008, Ohio

He certainly has the

He certainly has the intellectual prowess, the foresight to see beyond the immediate, understanding of international issues, and the ability to unite the divided nation and the alienated world. Let us hope that the majority of the electorate will see these qualities in him and elect him next week. Thank you for this service and helping us all see the strengths Omama will be bringing to the White House. Ahad

I really like the guy. I

I really like the guy. I feel he absolutely has the stuff to lead the country out of its current predicaments, and I do not refer to the economic D... recession which has been unavoidable for quite a while and might very well result in changing the paradigm of capitalism, but of the US standing in the world. Though I do not necessarily agree with some jingoist aspects of his policy, or his tepid support for the holiness of personal privacy, there is no question in my mind the US will get a free pass on much of the last eight years if he becomes the man. But be careful. Things will have to change quickly. Let us see where we are after the magic timeout - 100 days after taking office. (Gosh I love the guy!)

Amen.

Amen.

SO inspiring, so hopeful!

SO inspiring, so hopeful! Let's do it! Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work. Create hope, create joy, create good things for ALL, not just a few! God bless and protect this man. Lani in Canada

When I was a young man, my

When I was a young man, my heart beat strong and true for a candidate who declared the following: "The future is not a gift: it is an achievement. Every generation helps make its own future. This is the essential challenge of the present." "The future does not belong to those who are content with today, apathetic toward common problems and their fellow man alike, timid and fearful in the face of bold projects and new ideas. Rather, it will belong to those who can blend passion, reason and courage in a personal commitment to the great enterprises and ideals of American society." "People are selfish, but they can also be compassionate and generous, and they care about the country. But not when they feel threatened. That's why this is such a crucial time. We can go in either direction. But if we don't make a choice soon, it will be too late to turn things around. I think people are willing to make the right choice. But they need leadership. They're hungry for leadership." In the steaming paddies of Vietnam, my heart broke when this candidate was murdered. After more than 40 years, my heart is finally healed and my hope is finally renewed. Leadership has finally returned to America in its time of greatest need. Barack Obama makes me genuinely proud to be a Democrat. Let put our country first and elect him to the presidency of the United States.

I'm so hyped I can hardly

I'm so hyped I can hardly wait!!!!.

I heard BO speak in Ohio. He

I heard BO speak in Ohio. He made my day!

A really excellent speech

A really excellent speech that will go down in history! I wish a few of the McCainiacs I'm constantly in contact with would watch something like this. But no way! They are caught up in nothing beyond passing around, via e-mail, untruths, anti-black jokes and innuendo that reaffirm their biases. The principle bias is obvious to me as plain and simple racism. A pity that some of my former schoolmates and fellow wartime veterans grew up the way they have--believing it's everyone for himself. They slough off the hedonistic youth and self-serving life of John McCain and use any old excuse possible (including labeling all real facts as b.s.) to justify the underlying fact that they just don't want a black face in the White House. Only thing that would stir them up more these days would be a person of Hispanic descent--a Rodriguez or Jiminiez--vying for the office! Isn't it a great country, where Obama will be defending the rights and beliefs of these very same people? It's something I find very difficult to do myself.--Tom Camfield

I never have gone to any

I never have gone to any politician´s speech even in my country, Spain where people are very skeptical about politicians. I went see Obama´s when he came to Ohio. Barack Obama deserves everybody´s respect even if you don´t agree with his policy. He has fight this campaign with integrity, honesty and humble. United States is lucky to have such a powerful and honest politician. I hope we ¨the people¨ support him all his candidacy even when things are not going to turn out the way we think we will. He has the most difficult time in the History of USA; the country is a real mess and he is going to have a lot of obstacles and pressure. Negative forces will opposed to his will. I hope democrats support him because he is honest and dedicated for people.

The attempt to bring

The attempt to bring democracy is coming with Barack Obama United States for the first time in the history of United States.

I love this man... tears.

I love this man... tears.

Obama gave 'em hell. And

Obama gave 'em hell. And when we take over, those idiots can pay for the last 8 years of bull.

At last! The message that

At last! The message that we can re-make this country, and that, to do so, we must sacrifice and work hard. We heard the call in JFK's inaugural. We hear it again, and, let us hope, we will all respond.

I was in tears and ready to

I was in tears and ready to leap to my feet when the video cut off suddenly...Sigh. Nevertheless, I took a breath, crossed my fingers and wished for America to get it right this time. I wish I could vote. God help the planet if the old man and the bimbette win.

I sure hope Barack Obama

I sure hope Barack Obama wins, but I see so many ways that the Repub extremists could still wreck it. First and foremost would be to steal the vote electronically as the tallies move between the local tabulators and the state tabulators, the way they did with Ohio in 2004. They're already ginning up their BS excuses, too. We're already being told about how there will be many white people changing their mind at the last minute, which is so much crap on the face of it. Like George Bush's secret supporters in Democratic urban areas, back in 04, it's an obvious lie, that flies in the face of statistical data to the contrary, but they'll push it down our throats with the right-wing mass media propaganda machine. Mark my words, even if Obama wins, they will mess with the count to make it far closer than the actual votes counted, and push the "secret racists" conspiracy theory, just to try to sew dissent in the Democratic ranks. If the exit polls are off by more than about 2%, we will know that the American Taliban Wing of the Republican Party has successfully rigged yet a third Presidential election. When 6, 8, 10, or even 12% exit poll/ votes counted differences happen in other countries, we call their elections fraudulent and rigged. Among the many things that need fixing in this country, we need to put our voting system near the top of the list. Maybe if we asked them nicely, the advanced nations of the world would show our ignorant, superstitious, militaristic selves, how it's done.

In Europe we are waiting for

In Europe we are waiting for Obama and will go out on the streets to celebrate when he is elected. However, we all have to push to make sure he is supported in office and that he is able to realise his intentions - and not become another Tony Blair. The Republican right is obviously ready to do anything they can to keep him from becoming a good president. We cannot allow them to succeed. And to begin identifying and rolling back the damaging policies of the past eight years is going to take a lot of work. Good luck. we are with you.

Today I tremble with the

Today I tremble with the feeling of Hope. I voted three weeks ago at our Town Clerk's office and immediately experienced an overwhelming sense of healing for our human race. I am an American and I am also a person of this world community, as we all are, whether we realize it or not, part of this human community we all live in. We must respect one another and Barack can help lead us in that "must happen" goal. Yes, Barack. Hear me, it can only happen with each individual's help .... you and you and you and you .........and me. Oh, what an opportunity. One that may never come again.

I have the hope that Martin

I have the hope that Martin Luther King, Bobby and John and Cesar Chavez gave me years ago...It is time for the flow...We have ebbed into Hell under the Republicans...

It`s really sad that McCain

It`s really sad that McCain has let himself become power blind else wise he would be backing Barack Obama hands down!

I agree with much of what

I agree with much of what Obama has to say and many of his ideals to bad he is not for "Gun Rights" and the First Amendment right to bear arms. If he were he would have my vote.

I omitted to mention that I

I omitted to mention that I am north of the border--hence the statement about not being able to vote. All the best, America. The world is watching.

My friend is voting for

My friend is voting for Nader. That made me say to her . Voting for Nader! Go McCain... But then I thought back to when Gore lost and we really needed him to win...How I thought ...If Gore had publicly asked Nader to be in his cabinet ,we all would have won...I think Ralph Nader would be a bull dog and ferret out every past Republican dirty deal and the people would benefit .. Please Mr Obama ! I am begging you in the name of strategy and tactics.. Do not chance loss again...Please ask Ralph Nader to be in your cabinet...I cannot take another 4 to 8 years of this Republican Nightmare We need you to win.. Also if Nader refused he would be a spoiler Joyce Bartyzel

Challenge For Change I

Challenge For Change I wrote this back in 2000...to Gore.. Please unite with Nader...Invite him to be on your cabinet ...Publicly....He cannot refuse. (and not be a spoiler) Unite Both Obama and Nader are good honest men who have worked for change... Why chance a close election... Nader is pulling votes...and he has the right to run...The people who vote for Nader are principled but stubborn...in their belief that only one person can effect change...I believe in the Green Parties 10 key points... I love Mckinney... If Obama were to loose...I look down and grasp my forehead.. Who would be to blame? I think it would be Obama...It is a great strategy ...Obviously Nader has no problem changing parties...He ran Green...Now Independent...This was not a put down..I would love to see us all win... UNITE FOR CHANGE

I remember the feelings I

I remember the feelings I had listening to Bobby Kennedy speak in Woodland, California..The hope, dreams and faith in his country to do the right thing...It all comes back to me- listening to Barak Obama. How I love that man. God help us all if he is not elected. ps If Nader would bow out of this election it would show the world he has more love for the environment, country and fellow man than himself. What an ego!
