VIDEO: Pope Assaulted, but Not Injured at Christmas Mass

 As Pope Benedict XVI entered St. Peter's Basilica to celebrate Christmas Eve Mass, a woman jumped the guard rail and dragged him to the ground.

The Pope was not injured and performed the ceremony and delivered the traditional Christmas message to the thousands gathered for the event.

The woman had apparently also tried to attack the pope in 2008.

A French Cardinal who was walking with the Pope fell and broke his hip during the incident, according to a BBC report.

The attacker, who security officials claimed was mentally unstable, was taken to the hospital.

In his speech, Pope Benedict called for people in conflict zones to show respect for one another.

Huh, that's lame. Attacking the Pope is for religious fanatics. But I guess its better than attacking some president, then there would be huge publicity and ill feelings. At least with the Pope, you know there will be an attempt at reconciliation

Those who think the attack on the Pope is funny or justified should check their own nazi within. Every religious leader is there because of their convictions of good. All religions share the same basic belief of "Do unto others what you would have others do unto you". To those who justify this attack on the pope, by their own words, an attack is justified on their person as well. May peace be with you.

Please, please, please: Get your facts straight: CARL RATZINGER(Pope Benedict)WAS INDEED NOT A "NAZI". The comments made were not only sad and crazy but horribly false. Read deeply into his past and you will see he truly is a holy, loving, plainly spoken, and honest man. Also, a german soldier who went against the 3rd reich.
