Governor Kathleen Sebelius has once again vetoed a bill that would have required state-approved photo identification at Kansas voting booths. Sebelius vetoed a similar bill last year.

In her veto message the governor said she was encouraged by one part of the bill, which would have changed the date of the 2012 presidential preference primary to the first Saturday in February. But she said it was unfortunate the legislature paired that measure with the voter-ID requirements.

Sebelius also vetoed the legislature's attempt to side-step emergency appointments to the U.S. Senate, and move directly to a special election, in the event we need to replace a Senator.
