Bloomberg Wins Third Term as Mayor of New York

In a tighter than expected race for Mayor of New York, former Democrat turned Republican Michael Bloomberg will defeat City Comptroller William C. Thompson Jr. With 97% of precincts reporting Bloomberg was leading 51% to 46%.

The City council last year cleared the way for Bloomberg to seek a third time despite term limit laws that would have restricted him to two terms.

Bloomberg spent 90 million dollars of his own money to win the race.

It is way past time for Mr.

It is way past time for Mr. Obama to face up to the fact that compromise with Republicans is costing him his presidency. Both victories [McDonnell and Bloomsberg] bode ill for the balance of power staying on his side. He has give way too much to conservative elements and burned away the support he enjoyed from the rest of us. The House's rejection of the Goldstone Report is another deeply disturbing victory over the will of the people. This is what I wrote to him this morning: Dear Mr. Obama: I am deeply chagrined at the pot calling the kettle black in House Resolution 867, co-sponsored by House Foreign Affairs Committee senior members Reps. Howard Berman (D-Calif.) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), that was adopted by a vote of 344 to 36. To contend that the Goldstone Report is irredeemably biased is an untenable position for America to take. History will doubtless prove the House wrong to support the inhumane and unbalanced "self-defense" practiced by the Jewish State of Israel against Gazans, Iranians, and Muslims in general. I suppose that you have not yet strengthened your spine into the stainless steel one required to oppose the apparently all-powerful Zionist faction in Washington. But I do hope that, at least, your heart goes out to the victims in the conflict, disproportionately Arabs. To dismiss them all to belonging to "violent militant groups" is wholly unreasonable. It is not anti-Israel bias; it is pro-Israel bias we must begin fighting. _______ Mr. Obama, hopefully, now realizes he has burnt important bridges behind him. I'm certain that I'm not the only former supporter that is fed up and angry--about a lot of sacrifices burnt on the altar of "compromise."
