Bill Moyers With William K. Black

Bill Black accused then-house speaker Jim Wright and five US Senators, including John Glenn and John McCain, of doing favors for the S&L's in exchange for contributions and other perks. Now Black is focused on an even greater scandal, and he spares no one — not even the President he worked hard to elect, Barack Obama. But his main targets are the Wall Street barons, heirs of an earlier generation whose scandalous rip-offs of wealth back in the 1930s earned them comparison to Al Capone and the mob, and the nickname "banksters."

William Black has a lot of

William Black has a lot of good things to say and Moyers asks a lot of good questions to keep the conversation going. Good work! Now..., how can this all be applied to the FRAUD that is going on? What will it take to get some real investigations going? WHO isn't being 'paid off' (or terrified into silence)? WHO will blow the lid off and expose the FRAUD? Is Congress the only group of people who have the power and opportunity to investigate and make some changes? I doubt that there's enough personal and group integrity to get the job done....

Where is the investigative

Where is the investigative media in all of this? A successful democracy must have an informed citizenry, and only then can citizens apply necessary pressures on its elected officials to do the right thing to protect the interests of the people.

As with every issue going on

As with every issue going on in this country from war to 'owned' media to rigged elections, the only path to change is through the deliberate in-the-street action of the people. The people have been dumbed down (literally) for 40 years and are today, more suitable to be citizens in a dictatorship than in a democracy. People have been cowed into being embarrassed to voice their opinion rather than see that as being their responsibility. Since it takes effort to find what the real news is, minute numbers of people are outraged to the extent warranted by reality. 'Deciders' follow the path of money unless 'forced' by the will of masses of people. We're down to our last straws. Once the cyber 'tubes are privatized and 'owned', we're done. If being robbed to the extent that we have been doesn't get people into the street, what will? I dread to think because it will be too late.

Amazing that our esteemed

Amazing that our esteemed christian religions have been doing away with the law ever since the time of Constantine. See what happens when being a thief is OK as long as it is on a mammouth scale? You get worldwide economic ruin. A man can steal a loaf af bread from a convenience store and he gets twenty years in prison. He can steal billions from his fellow citizens, and he gets a bailout or a job in the legislature. Why not re-examine the biblical laws that were "done away" by the great christian protectors of the faith?

I share this story with many

I share this story with many people and everyone shakes their head in disbelief. On CSPAN Pink heckled Summers and Goldman Sachs about their roles in the fraud. The goons they hired to shout down the truth were placed by the microphones yet sounded like the same people 'placed by the microphones' at Sarah Palin rallies to shout "Drill, Baby, drill!" You know the truth is leaking out when the House Banking Committee ruled that William Black's assessment agrees that the CEO's need to be fired and the banks downsized. Something Fox News doesn't report. April 11th join the Freedom Now rallies against the Banks! I'll be there!

I can understand Bill

I can understand Bill Black's assessment that the most elite institutions engaged in fraud and that there has been a cover-up. However, one thing that he does not mention is the Lehman bankruptcy. The Lehman bankruptcy caused a panic that froze up the credit markets. He waves off the fear of possible economic catastrophe in putting the big banks into receivership by claiming that it is manageable because of FDIC insurance. I wish he would have gone into more detail here because I'm not quite convinced. Geithner and company have at least averted a free fall for the time being and perhaps stabilized the financial system.

Prof. Black spells it out --

Prof. Black spells it out -- what should, has and can be done to save the economy -- and fire the Banksters, including Obama's 'economic team'. It's also a Cover-up, which means the media has a job of getting out this information and important PBS interview with Bill Moyers. Thanks for posting and putting in form for emailing -- which I have.

Thank you Truthout for

Thank you Truthout for posting this. It is one one the clearest explanations I have seen for the ongoing crisis. This needs to be as widely disseminated as possible. It will provide an excellent counterpoint to Michael Moore's new movie. It is vital that all of us who fought so hard to get Obama elected don't let him continue on this insane course, which could well end up leading to the destruction of his presidency.
