Global warming is a fraud? Tell that to the people being displaced in the Arctic; tell that to the Canadians who are spending millions to upgrade their cold water ports because the Hudson Bay is ice-free for longer, tell that to the Arctic powers - including the U.S. who are scrambling to establish new bases and claim mineral rights as the Arctic becomes ice-free, tell that to the multi-national insurance companies who are now figuring out insurance plans to account for climate change... tell that to your children, not your grandchildren, who will be forced to deal with your denial.
Global warming is a fraud? I guess I'd post anonymously too if I made such an absurd statement. I suppose the holocaust, astronauts on the moon, and a round Earth are also frauds.
There is a term for people who deny overwhelming scientific evidence: Flat-earthers.
Scary.
david, i need to know what occurs in your brain when you say statements like that. If you truly believe global warming isn't occuring all hope is lost for you.
Al Gore is a FAKE and a LIAR! His "Inconveniant Truth" is actually a "convenient lie" on behalf of the international bankers who pull Gore's puppet strings. Rather than global warming, it seems the planet is cooling this year, and the ice-pack isn't melting as forecast...

I trust that President Gore is given the senior cabinet position in the new administration that he deserves and we, the citizens of the world, also now require. We are on the road to hell following the road we presently travel. President Gore’s drive, eloquence, enthusiasm, fire in the belly, common sense and pragmatic initiatives are needed now for the new president. Required now today, more now than those 8 stolen, long years ago. We need Gore and the new president and his picked-by-the-people team to solve our worldwide crisis. The increasing fossil fuel demands from China and India put our fragile planet at risk of annihilation unless we stop robbing, looting, drilling, buying and using oil to further enrich the obscenely wealthy and poison the air we breathe and the seas who gave us life.
Hey Vermont! It's called "Net Metering Policy". Google it. Regarding your wood consumption, burning carbon fixed in the last century is better than burning carbon fixed 200 million years ago. Almost renewable, but not.
Thank you Al Gore for NOT mentioning nuclear power. I am so afraid that we'll end up with a worse pollution problem by opting to build more nuclear reactors like McCain is saying we need. People who think that is a good expenditure of resources need to study the real costs associated with keeping the waste products safe forever and the risks to posterity for not doing so!
I will lament to my dying day that this man did not become our president. What a gigantic loss for our country and the world. Thank you, Al Gore, for your continued passion to better our world.
We live in Vermont an are stockpiling wood for the winter because oil is just too expensive. We know this is not good for global warming but we do not live in a place where wind or solar power are something we can use. What can we do to place pressure on those who have the power to make the changes that are necessary? I call my senators and congressmen but more needa to be done. Does anyoneout there have any suggestions?

This is an excellent speech. I hope that the United States can take the initiative and become the world leader in producing green energy. If they can bring India and China on board, we may be able to avoid some of the worst devastation from global warming.

thank you, al gore.
after seeing his documentary "an uncomfortable truth" i have been very impressed already. this speech goes much farther and hopefully really works as a challenge to change the attitude of the american people to both, turning away from mindlessly burning up ever more carbon fuel and also start to mind their energy consumption. both together should and will make the difference they need and we all need for a basic change in energy making as well as energy use!
going with such a change reason will also hopefully return to revert measures generated by security phobia for making the us a country of self discipline and masterminded research and development aimed at the survival of mankind and not at maximising the profit of manufacture of weapons.
thank you very much and lets hope for the best!
saludos cordiales

Thank you Al Gore for telling us the truth. You layed it all out. What I am going to say is if we elect McCain, I will be certain that much of what you layed out will not happen. McCain will only take the baby steps and I believe Obama would take the giant steps we need.
